The Amalgamated Union of Public Daily Rated Workers (AUPDRW) held an appreciation session to express its thanks to fellow unions and other organisations that have contributed to the union’s fundraising for its members on 18 July 2012.

Held at a food court in Downtown East, Kopi from the Heart raised a total of $106,300, exceeding its target of $100,000, for its 700 low-wage members. The funds would enable the union to do more to improve the lives of its members, who often face challenges coping with the rising cost of living.

The amount would be channeled towards funding the union’s education bursaries for members’ children, welfare schemes for members as well as allow it to organise recreational events for members and their families to improve their work-life balance for the next three years.

AUPDRW President Subari Samuri delivered a welcome address before Guest-of-Honour Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong presented tokens of appreciation to the donors. Guests present were also treated to traditional Kopi and Toast sets.
